I redesigned the website for the Swiss mechanical engineering company FUCHS AG.
The web design was showing its age and it was time for a more modern look and feel. Thanks to the new design and improved usability, the user can find the desired product with far fewer clicks.
Thanks to responsive web design, the 3-language website offers a better user experience on smartphones and tablets. The design follows the company motto "Simply efficient".
Fast data collection with MetaModels for Contao
The customer attached particular importance to faster entry of new data, such as new used machines or references. With the Metamodels extension for Contao, it was possible in this project to master the constantly growing amount of data in the areas of used machines, references and downloads as well as worldwide sales partners and to enter and manage them in a uniformly structured way in the backend and flexibly output them in the frontend of the website.
Easy administration of the website in several foreign languages
Especially the fact that data can be entered quickly, also in several foreign languages, which can be done by employees of FUCHS, prompted the customer to decide on implementation with the open source CMS Contao and the MetaModels.
A new used machine can now be published by the customer in three languages within a few minutes. Other foreign languages — also with a different character set — could easily be added if required. Thanks to the translations, the machine builder's offer is easily found in search engines abroad, and foreign buyers can quickly find the information they are looking for.
Filtering of the machine offers
In the website frontend, the visitor can quickly get information about various machines thanks to the extensive filter options. He can e.g. only show references from the food industry on the subject of screening technology, in which grated cheese was processed or only used machines of the "Mixomat A" type in very good condition, etc..
The implementation of the Contao extension "MetaModels", which is used for filtering on the website, was carried out in cooperation with CyberSpectrum.
Contact forms
In order to improve user interaction, a call-to-action button was also installed for used machines, with which these machines can be requested directly in a simple form.
In addition, various inquiry forms for machines to be developed individually were used in order to be able to answer inquiries from interested parties as quickly and effectively as possible.
